This year, CDC United Network arrived at LA Screenings driven by the great success of Todas menos tu, its original Mexican film that premiered on more than 1,000 screens in Mexico, grossing more than 40 million at the box office, and then continued its overwhelming success on SVOD on Max.
“Todas menos tu was a great success for us,” Jimmy van der Heyden, Sales Manager at CDC United Network, began in dialogue with ttvnews in Los Angeles. “Being the first in-house production in LatAm, it was a key moment in the history of CDC and the truth is that the stars aligned for it to turn out well.”
“The premiere in theaters was very good and then on the Max it was also a great success, reaching first place in the most watched list on the day of its release and for several days on. Even sixth place in the world on Max. It is a great achievement and we are very happy, looking forward to continuing to produce in LatAm.”
In this sense, the executive explained that the group is in “development of several projects,” but none are ready to be announced. “But everything is getting underway and we hope to start filming several films in the coming months.”
In addition to its original productions, CDC arrived in Los Angeles with a catalog of titles in all genres, covering big hits and new releases for international audiences.
“As always, we try to stock our library with ‘evergreen’ titles, well-known films with very famous actors. They always have their place on all channels and platforms. They are titles that have worked in the past and that the audience continues to like, so we always try to nourish the catalog with these types of titles.”
“And it is also important to offer new films to our clientes,” he continued. “In that sense we have a new action and suspense movie called Prey, new animations like Finnick and Richard the Stork 2; Retribution, a great action movie; On Fire… We are here in Los Angeles with a large catalog of new releases and bookstore titles for all customers,” he concluded.
