The film is a Nodancingtoday and Videocine production for ViX, premiering on the platform on April 11.

ViX announced today that its romantic comedy  El Roomie premieres April 11 exclusively on the service’s premium plan. The film tells the story of Vivi, a young writer who is forced to find a roommate to pay the mortgage on her apartment.

El Roomie is produced by Nodancingtoday and Videocine, directed by Jorge Aragón, Concepción Taboada, Guadalupe Sosa, Pablo Martínez De Velasco, and Laura Pino, under the direction of Pitipol Ybarra, with a screenplay by Miguel García.

The original ViX film stars Fiona Palomo (¡Qué despadre!), José Eduardo Derbez (De viaje con los Derbez), Herlanlly Rodríguez (La más Draga), Giusseppe Gamba (Perdona nuestros pecados), Naia Pindas Sandoval (Totó), Leticia Calderón (Senda Prohibida), Carlos Ferro (Vencer la culpa) and Irving López.

El Roomie tells the story of Vivi, a young writer who is forced to find a roommate to pay the mortgage on her apartment. What she doesn’t suspect is that Roy, the supposedly perfect roommate she found, has a peculiar lifestyle: he never pays rent. Although Vivi discovers Roy, she decides to open the doors of her home and her life to him because his tricks lead her to find herself again as a writer and both she and her roomie will discover their true value.
