The executive has been a corporate lawyer at ZDF Studios since June 2006, responsible for contract management for ZDF and ZDF Studios.
Eva Kamin will be the new Vice President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at ZDF Studios as of July 1. This follows the retirement of Volker Lehmann, who will leave at the end of June to pursue new challenges after working for the studio for more than 30 years in licensing acquisitions for ZDF and the ZDF family of channels.
Eva Kamin, meanwhile, has been a corporate lawyer at ZDF Studios since June 2006, responsible for contract management for ZDF and ZDF Studios. In 2011, she moved to the Acquisitions & Co-Productions department, where she was most recently responsible for fiction licensing and international co-productions in the area of series and framework agreements and partnerships on behalf of ZDF.
The executive is a trained lawyer with a master’s degree in media law from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
“We are delighted to have Eva Kamin as our new head of department. She has many years of knowledge of the market, ZDF’s partners, and excellent relationships with international business partners,” said Dr. Markus Schäfer, president and CEO of ZDF Studios.
According to Schäfer, Kamin, as a media lawyer, is the ideal person for this position to negotiate program acquisitions and international partnerships that meet the programming needs of the ZDF network.
“At the same time, we thank Volker Lehmann for his many years of service as an expert international program buyer and department head. With his business and programming knowledge and his personality, he has earned the respect of all our business partners,” he said.
Eva Kamin commented on her new position: “I am delighted to have been entrusted with this important and exciting role. In today’s dynamic market environment, negotiating international program acquisitions, co-productions, framework agreements, and partnerships is becoming increasingly important. I look forward to working with my team to contribute to ZDF’s success.”
