Produced by The Immigrant, the dramedy will be available on Starzplay in Spain and Latin America, as well as the UK and Europe, and on Pantaya in the US and Puerto Rico.
Starzplay, the international premium streaming service from Starz, has announced today that Eréndira Ibarra (The Matrix Resurrections, Ingobernable) has joined the six-episode dramedy series Yellow (working title) as a series regular.
Yellow is the first Spanish-Language Original to be available across the Starzplay footprint in the U.K. and Europe, joining the previously confirmed territories Spain, Latin America.
The series will also be available on Pantaya in the US and Puerto Rico.
Ibarra will play Detective Rojo, who has always had a strange effect on others, with her mere presence causing cases of insecurity in those around her. She is cold, dry and her terribly obsessive personality forces her to categorize people around her as witnesses, suspects or colleagues. A workaholic with no family or friends, the lack of distractions makes Rojo the best detective to find those responsible for the stolen artwork.
Yellow is the story of two female fugitives, Dan and Nico who hijacks a stick-shift taxi to escape from the authorities after stealing a work of art. Realizing that the car is not automatic, they are forced to kidnap Richie, the taxi driver, who also happens to be a suicidal ex-Formula 1 racer. Constantly having to thwart his suicide attempts, the three reach an agreement: if he takes them to the border, they will kill him.
As previously announced, the series stars Tessa Ia as Dan, who is extremely competitive, thinks that winning by cheating is worth double and finds Nico, played by Lizeth Selene, to be her impossible love. Nico is sincere to the point of being abrasive, has a heart and innocence of a child and lives without constraints. Martín Saracho also stars as Richie, a failed former Formula 1 driver whose promising career ended after a catastrophic accident forced him to stop racing and is now a taxi driver.
Produced by The Immigrant, which is backed by global producer-distributor Fremantle, the six-episode, 30-minute series is executive produced by Sofia Auza and Silvana Aguirre who both also serve as showrunners. Executive Producers from The Immigrant are Silvana Aguirre and Camila Jimenez. The series is created by Sofia Auza and directed by Sofia Auza and Silvana Aguirre.
