The VP for Latam spoke with ttvnews in Cannes about the big formats and fiction series they are presenting to the international market.

Always armed with a catalog of hit formats and fiction productions, All3Media International was present at Mipcom to seek new partnerships and screens for its most successful titles.

In terms of fiction, the distributor is presenting I Fought the Law, which coincidentally was highlighted this Wednesday as one of the fresh fictions at The Wit conference.

“I Fought the Law is a series based on a real-life story about how a mother in England went through a terrible experience in which her daughter was murdered, the culprit was found, they went to court, and he was found innocent due to lack of evidence,” Yari Torres, VP for Latam at All3Media International, began in a conversation with ttvnews.

“When this happened, since England has the double jeopardy law, they couldn’t charge him again. She fought for more than 10 years in court to change that law and succeeded, bringing the murderer to justice,” she continued.

“We had an impressive cast for this series. The person narrating the documentary is the series’ lead actress. It’s a story that can resonate anywhere, because any mother would do anything for her children,” the executive emphasized.

The fiction catalog also includes the four-part series Trespasses, from the production company Wildgaze Films. “It’s a period series, based on a book that has done very well, set in 1970s Belfast. A story of an impossible love between a Catholic girl and an older Protestant man.”

On the format side, the big highlight is the reality show Rise and Fall, “a format that, despite having already been presented, now has a new version in India, a market very similar to Latin America. The Indian version is for Amazon. It’s a super fun competition that explores two worlds: that of the workers and that of the bosses,” the executive explained.

And of course, the group continues to promote its flagship format, Traitors, which already has more than 30 international versions, “with two in Latin America, including the version with NBCUniversal.”

“We have versions in Brazil and Mexico. We hope to premiere them next year, and we’re eager to see them,” she anticipated.

From the same production company as Traitors, Studio Lambert, the distributor also presents The Circle, which now has distribution rights for Latin America. “It’s a format that everyone knows and is very successful, and we’re eager to see if we can make a new version in Latin America.”

And finally, they present The Inheritance, also from Studio Lambert, “which is based on a famous person who dies and leaves an inheritance to a group of people, who have to fight to win that inheritance,” she concluded.
