The executive, who had been serving as president of Turner Latin America, will now lead all WarnerMedia entertainment networks in Latin America.

WarnerMedia announced Wednesday the appointment of Whit Richardson as President of WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks in Latin America.

Richardson had been serving as president of Turner Latin America and will now lead all WarnerMedia entertainment networks in the region.

His new position will take effect on August 1.

As detailed, he will be based in Atlanta and report to Gerhard Zeiler, Chief Revenue Officer of WarnerMedia and President of WarnerMedia International Networks.

Richardson will have “oversight and executive responsibilities in programming, advertising, distribution and operations” for all of the group’s entertainment channels in the region, including all of Turner’s channels plus Cinemax, HBO and sports channels, they explained.

As for children’s signals, meanwhile, he will share responsibilities with Tom Ascheim, recently appointed global president of Kids, Young Adults and Classics at Warner Bros.

“Whit is an incredibly talented and strategic executive. He is also a charismatic leader who has shown great results in Latin America,” said Gerhard Zeiler.

“The merger of Turner Latin America and HBO Latin America Group will provide a tremendous collection of businesses, creative talents and brands for our fans and partners in Latin America,” said Richardson.
