Cesar will lead the company’s content and production teams for all general entertainment and streaming brands for Latin America and US Hispanic.
Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Mariano Cesar has been promoted to the position of General Entertainment Content Leader for Latin America and US Hispanic. He will lead all content and production teams for the company’s extensive portfolio of general entertainment brands in the region, including streaming platforms, Pay TV and digital products. Mariano Cesar will report directly to Fernando Medin, President of Warner Bros. Discovery for Latin America and US Hispanic, who announced the promotion today.
In his new position, Mariano Cesar will lead the general entertainment content development, production, acquisition and programming teams for Warner Bros. Discovery’s portfolio of Pay TV channels, which includes some of the most successful brands in Latin America, among them HBO, TNT, Space, Warner Channel, Cinemax, Discovery, Home & Health, ID and TLC, as well as the HBO Max and discovery+ (Brazil) streaming platforms.
Mariano Cesar joined the Pay TV industry three decades ago, building a career at the helm of such iconic brands as Uniseries, Retro, I.Sat, Space, TNT, TNT Series, and Warner Channel. Following the launch of the HBO Max streaming platform in 2021, he was named its Leader of Programming and Strategic Content, soon adding the HBO channel portfolio and, more recently, discovery+ to his responsibilities.
“I am excited to welcome Mariano Cesar as the leader of this team. He has shown great strategic and creative ability to bring us closer to our audiences,” said Fernando Medín, President of Warner Bros. Discovery for Latin America and US Hispanic.
“Connecting with audiences through the power of our stories and the diversity of our brands is an extraordinary challenge,” acknowledged Mariano Cesar, new General Entertainment Content Leader for Latin America and US Hispanic. “I am enthusiastic about meeting it and proud to be able to continue my efforts in this area. I am grateful to Fernando for the confidence he has shown in me at this important juncture in Warner Bros. Discovery’s trajectory.”
