ViX’s new original series recently finished production in Mexico City and will premiere in 2025.
ViX today unveiled the first teaser for its new original series, Con esa misma mirada, which represents the long-awaited return to acting of renowned actress Angélica Rivera, in her first streaming project.
Con esa misma mirada is a daring version of the successful and iconic telenovela Mirada de Mujer that changed the history of Mexican television in the 1990s. ViX will show a never-seen-before adaptation of the classic novela in a modern context, with contemporary characters and twists to the story that will impress audiences.
Diego Klein, Iván Sánchez, Sofía Castro, Ivanna Castro, and Nicolás Haza are also part of the cast of the drama that recently finished filming in Mexico City and will premiere on ViX in 2025.
Con esa misma mirada tells the story of a woman who, after a painful infidelity and separation after 25 years of marriage, is faced with rethinking the life she had dedicated to her family, reactivating her professional dreams, and rediscovering love and sensuality with a man younger than herself.
The original play “Seňora Isabel” by renowned Colombian writer Bernardo Romero Pereiro was adapted for the screen by his daughter, Jimena Romero, Gilma Peña, and María J. Acero. The new adaptation, produced by Argos for ViX, features two of the original writers: Jimena Romero and Gilma Peña, as well as Camila Ibarra.
Con esa misma mirada also features Ximena Herrera, Pamela Almanza, Fernanda Borches, Iliana Fox, Juan Ríos Cantú, Blanca Guerra, Adriana Llabrés, Gonzalo Vega, Adriana Romero, Adolfo de la Fuente, Lupita Ortiz, Mateo Ortega Casillas, Fernanda Hernández, and Andrea Aldana, under the direction of Alba Gil and Pitipol Ybarra, who took on this role after the passing in June of renowned film and television director Moisés Ortiz Urquidi. The general producers are Epigmenio Ibarra and Verónica Velasco and executive producer Patricia Benítez, along with Fides Velasco in production.
