Viacom International Studios (VIS) Americas announced the end of filming for Ana, the comedy series co-created, produced and starring renowned Mexican actress, Ana de la Reguera.
Its premiere is set for 2020 in Latin America on Comedy Central and Amazon Prime Video.
Filming began in early June in Veracruz, Ana de la Reguera’s home town. It then moved to different locations across Mexico and finished in Los Angeles, US.
Ana tells the story of the daughter of a Mexican beauty queen who seeks to become famous as a Hollywood actress, while she has to fight against the passage of time and the weight of her mother’s unfulfilled dreams.
The series reveals how Ana has lived a life ruled by appearances while looking for the iconic role that will finally allow her to succeed. But will she find herself in the process? Or will he finally accept that she is much more like her mother than she would like to admit?
Its protagonist, Ana de la Reguera, is recognized for her important roles in film and television. Her most recent leading role was in the acclaimed original Amazon series, Goliath, by David E. Kelley, as well as her recurring role in the hit show Power and as a guest star on Narcos and Jane the Virgin.
She is also known for her performance as Sister Encarnación next to Jack Black in the feature film Nacho Libre. She previously worked with VIMN Americas when she participated in the Mexican adaptation of the successful Comedy Central format, Drunk History.
