Turovelzky will oversee both Chilevisión and Argentina’s Telefe, while Vicente was named VP and director of Chilevisión, and will report to Turovelzky. They will both report to JC Acosta, President of ViacomCBS International Studios and Networks Americas.

ViacomCBS Networks Americas announced today its new leadership for its recently acquired free-to-air (FTA) network, Chilevisión.

Darío Turovelzky, General Manager of ViacomCBS South Cone, will oversee both Chilevisión and Argentina’s free-to-air television network, Telefe, as well as all ViacomCBS operations locally.

In addition, Juan Ignacio Vicente “Iñaki” was named Vice President and Executive Director of Chilevisión and will report to Turovelzky.

The announcement was made by JC Acosta, President of ViacomCBS International Studios and Networks Americas, to whom Turovelzky will continue reporting.

Chilevisión is a strategic asset for ViacomCBS’ s expansion in the region. The integration of Chilevisión into ViacomCBS’s South Cone will create a one-of-a-kind FTA Hub that will strengthen and expand the organization’s scale in the region by aligning and maximizing commercial, content, and streaming strategies.

The powerful combination of Telefe and Chilevisión’s content libraries and extensive production capabilities will expand studio, streaming, and linear presence in the South Cone region and fortify ViacomCBS’s position as a leading global producer of Spanish-language content through VIS, ViacomCBS International Studios.

“Under Darío’s leadership, Telefe has become the undisputed leader in free-to-air television in Argentina and has helped expand the ViacomCBS ecosystem; I have no doubt Chilevisión will thrive under his direction,” said Acosta. “I am equally as excited to have Iñaki onboard. With his distinctive track record in programming and leading teams in Chile, he is the perfect choice to lead Chilevisión and to create a perfect stronghold to support the local linear and streaming ViacomCBS ecosystem.”

“We are enthusiastic about having Chilevisión, a brand rich in history that has earned the trust of Chilean audiences, join the ViacomCBS South Cone organization,” said Turovelzky. “They bring with them the largest production studios in the country and an incredible team of talented employees, which, coupled with Iñaki’s vast experience and connections in the region, are sure to grow Chilevisión and the ViacomCBS global brands and streaming products locally.

“I am incredibly pleased to join Chilevisión and ViacomCBS, a leading global media and entertainment company with an impressive portfolio of premium content,” commented Vicente. “ViacomCBS streaming efforts in the free, paid, and premium space is something that I am confident will help lead Chilevisión into a new era.”

Vicente has over 25 years of experience in media and entertainment. Most recently, he was the Director of Content and International Business of Mega, one of the leading television stations in Chile. His innovative strategic content strategies, commercial partnerships, and leadership revolutionized the market, leading Mega to become one of the top channels for years. In addition, he pioneered the introduction of Turkish telenovelas into Latin America as well as adapted global franchises into local hits, like Sres Papis and Pituca Sin Lucas. Vicente has also served as an independent producer for networks like TVN and the Discovery Channel, as well as an executive producer for Chile’s Channel 13, overseeing development of scripted series, telenovelas, and reality shows.
