Following the success of El cazador in its afternoons, the Spanish public broadcaster will adapt the latest format of the popular The Chase family, from ITV Studios.
With the fourth season of El cazador -adaptation of The Chase- reaping very good audience numbers in the afternoons of its main network La 1, RTVE has decided to go for more and will now bet on Beat The Chasers, the latest member of the popular The Chase family from ITV Studios.
As revealed by the Yotele portal, the public channel commissioned Mediacrest, the production company in charge of El cazador, the new version to be broadcast in prime time.
While the Spanish version of The Chase is broadcast daily, Beat The Chasers will be weekly, according to the platform.
The premiere in Spain is scheduled for the first half of 2021.
Beat The Chasers is created by Potato (an ITV Studios company) and is distributed internationally by ITV Studios. It is the latest format in The Chase franchise, joining The Celebrity Chase, The Family Chase, and The Chase Kids.
The format gives a new twist to the original, and proposes that fans of quiz shows compete alone against a team of five hunters. In the first round, the candidate generates his capital by answering a maximum of five questions and then challenges the champion in a race against time. The more champions you challenge, the more silver you can earn at the risk of losing it all.
Beat The Chasers premiered in April 2020 in the UK on ITV and last week ended its second season with great success. Furthermore, the format has already been adapted in Australia, the Netherlands and Finland.
