Two years after its original premiere, on Monday, March 23, the Chilean channel once again aired Global Agency’s successful Turkish drama, registering an 11.9 rating that made it the most viewed show in its time slot.
Last week, Mega announced the return of Mother, the Turkish drama distributed by Global Agency, which originally premiered on its screen just under two years ago.
Under the local title Madre, the drama made its second debut this past Monday, March 23, and showed that it continues to be as relevant as in its first broadcast.
Recording an 11.9 rating between 19:12 and 20:07, with peaks of 15.0, the series became the most viewed in its time slot, beating Chilevisión (10.6), TVN (8.9) and Channel 13 (7.8).
Also, the #MadreXMega hashtag was a trending topic on Twitter during the broadcast.
Originally titled Anne and based on the Japanese series Mother, it is a MedYapım and MF Yapım co-production starring Cansu Dere, starring in successful Ottoman productions such as Sila and Ezel.
Mother tells the story of Zeynep (Dere), a young substitute teacher who, upon learning that one of her students, Melek (Beren Gökyıldız, only six years old), is suffering abuse from her parents, makes the impulsive decision to kidnap her and start a new life with the girl, becoming her “surrogate mother” and living several adventures together.
The series also features performances by Vahide Perçin (The Sultan, Feriha’s Secret), Serhat Teoman, and Gonca Vuslateri.
The series has already been broadcast in almost 30 countries, including Chile, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Spain, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia.
