In the following interview with ttvnews, Eugenio Restano, Programming Manager at Teledoce, shares what content they want to add to their catalog in the international market.
In an industry as evolving as the entertainment industry, it is imperative to stay one step ahead of the latest trends and know what the international market demands regarding content.
To this end, ttvnews presents the Buyers: What are buyers looking for? Initiative to learn first-hand about the programming needs of buyers around the world.
This time, we spoke to Eugenio Restano, Programming Manager at Teledoce:
What content would you highlight among those that worked best for the company in 2024?
For the last year, we have seen that formats are significantly different from other platforms when it comes to trying to have our own identity and personality.
Since last year, we have been betting on having a prime-time slot where we offer a different entertainment proposal daily, mostly adaptations of internationally proven formats.
We have been very successful with La Máscara, which had four seasons; Green Master, the Sony format that we call Fuego Sagrado.
What type of content is most in demand by your audience today?
We are already pre-producing two important formats for 2025: The Floor, Talpa’s format, and Tu Cara me Suena by Banijay.
What kind of content, formats, or genres will you look for at industry events?
We continue to consider cans because we cannot aspire to produce all the programming in a market like ours. We are starting with Cris Morena’s Margarita and then a Globo telenovela, Renacer, which is the replacement for Todas las Flores. Furthermore, we try to alternate domestic and foreign products, but we are always trying to achieve a balance.
Giving the heart of the programming to local production is a significant difference today in broadcast television from other platforms and alternatives, I believe.
