TTV+Live: The Future of TV Content, the virtual event organized by TTV Media as part of the launch of its new all-in-one platform, TTV+; finished its first edition with more than 1,400 participants from more than 400 companies, and thousands of impressions and interactions in the app.
TTV Media Group began a new era as a group in December with the market launch of TTV+, an all-in-one platform that combines networking, marketplace, live events and editorial content.
And to accompany the launch, TTV organized its first virtual event: TTV+Live: The Future of TV Content, which was developed within the TTV+ platform and which had more than 20 panels, keynotes and conferences for 10 days by more than 40 renowned speakers from the TV industry.
The list included names such as Kate del Castillo, Natalia Scalia, Fernando Barbosa, Sonia Martínez, Maarten Meijs, Javier Pons, Carlos Bardasano, Fidela Navarro, Fredrik af Malmborg, Jimmy Arteaga and Ates Ince, among others.

Conferences and debates with renowned figures
The first day of the event began with the panel Spanish Producers, What Now? led by Sonia Martínez from Buendía Estudios, Javier Pons from Globomedia and The Mediapro Studio, and José Manuel Lorenzo from DLO Producciones, who debated about of the evolution and challenges of audiovisual production in Spain.

The day continued with the panel Programmers: Keys and Strategies to Continue Leading, in which Eric Jurgensen from América TV (Peru), Jimmy Arteaga from Wapa TV (Puerto Rico) and José A. Miranda from Canal 13 (Chile) spoke about the search for new formulas in the OTT era.

The second day of TTV+Live featured the panel Women Protagonists in the Audiovisual World, featuring Kate del Castillo and her Cholawood partners. Moderated by Roxana Rotundo, CEO, VIP 2000, the panel served to learn about the company’s latest projects and to discuss the transformation that the industry is experiencing around female empowerment.

The day also featured a Q&A with Maarten Meijs, president of Global Entertainment at ITV Studios, who shared details about the group’s latest production news.

On its third day, the event offered the panel Drivers of Innovation to Create Fiction Content, which had Carlos Bardasano from Televisa; Carlos Fueyo, VFX artist and director; Joel Novoa, director / writer; and Felipe Pimiento from Magnus Media as speakers; and was moderated by Marlon Quintero, CEO of CIC Media & Innovation. The panel focused on providing insights from a product, business and technology perspective.

TTV+Live: The Future of TV Content completed its first week with two panels focused on the future of content and consumer habits in Latin America from two different perspectives: the launch of Disney+ in the region and the evolution of the Turkish phenomenon in LatAm.
From the Disney+ side, the protagonists were Natalia Scalia, Head of Direct-to-Consumer, The Walt Disney Company Latam; and Fernando Barbosa, General Manager Media Networks, The Walt Disney Company Latam (US).

As for Turkey, the panel featured Beatriz Cea Okan from Inter Medya; Mikaela Perez of Kanal D; and Iván Sánchez from, Global Agency, who reviewed the changes that Turkish content has undergone since its arrival in Latin America and advanced how they believe the phenomenon will evolve in the coming years.

The fifth day of the event began with the Turkish New Generation, What Now? panel, with the participation of Fredrik af Malmborg from Eccho Rights; Muge Akar from ATV; Madd Ates Ince; and José Luis Gascue from Calinos Entertainment; who reviewed the growth of Turkish content in Spain, buyer demand and the latest trends.

In the afternoon, Ruth Calvo, Director of International Development at Teleformat, analyzed the main television trends in fiction and entertainment, with a selection of the main fictions and formats that marked the year that is ending.

On its sixth day, TTV+Live presented the panel The New Era of Unscripted Formats, which brought together three leading producers and executives from leading non-fiction companies: Coty Cagliolo from Fremantle; Sebastián Moguilevsky from Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and Portugal; and Marie Leguizamo from Endemol Shine Boomdog.

This was followed by the panel The Roads to Co-Production Between Latin America and Spain, in alliance with Conecta Fiction. Agustín Sacanell, co-founder and creative director of Kapow in Argentina, and Emilio Amaré, partner and general director of Plano a Plano in Spain, shared their experiences and discussed the partnership opportunities for the future.

On the penultimate day first thing in the morning, a panel focused on ViacomCBS took place, with Federico Cuervo from ViacomCBS International Studios; and Eduardo Lebrija from ViacomCBS Networks Americas, moderated by none other than Argentine actor Michel Brown. It was devoted to learning first-hand about the company’s OTT plans, as well as its production efforts.

In the second hour, the event focused on the Mexican production industry, with a panel led by Ricardo Coeto, co-founder and partner of BTF Media; and Moisés Chiver, founder and partner of Alazraki Films, who shared their experience of creating content in a pandemic and the importance of the showrunner in audiovisual projects.
