TTV 20 Years: Liliana Castillo

TTVNews celebrates its first 20 years by inviting friends and industry colleagues to share their personal experiences over the past two decades. Liliana Castillo, National Head of Programming and Broadcasting at Red Uno in Bolivia, answers, “Where were you 20 years ago?”

This 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of TTVNews, a big reason to celebrate for the group which is consolidating itself as one of the go-to media platforms in the audiovisual industry in Latin America.

And to mark the occasion, we’ve invited friends and colleagues to share their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned over the last 20 years in this industry.

This time, Liliana Castillo, the National Head of Programming and Broadcasting at Red Uno in Bolivia, answers, “Where were you 20 years ago?”

Where were you 20 years ago?

Twenty years ago, I was graduating from school, and a few months later, I began studying Communication.

What was your first industry event?

My first international market was in 2020, held virtually due to the pandemic, and in 2021, I attended my first in-person market.

What is the greatest growth opportunity in the industry looking ahead?

From my perspective, the greatest growth opportunity for the audiovisual industry lies in digital convergence and content personalization. The way audiences consume content has evolved significantly, and the challenge—and opportunity—lies in leveraging data to understand audiences better and offer them tailored content at the right time and on their preferred platform.
