Today at Mipcom, the Turkish and Spanish producers announced a new co-production deal to jointly develop content, which will be distributed by Turkey’s Inter Medya. The first project will be “a Spanish series with Turkish DNA.”
The romance between Turkey and Spain reached a new milestone today in Cannes, where a major new alliance was unveiled.
A major in the field of Turkish Drama, TIMS&B Productions, Turkey’s acclaimed production company and one of Spain’s most important producers, Plano a Plano, have signed a co-production agreement today at Inter Medya’s pavilion.
Inter Medya, known in the industry for its pristine distribution background, will undertake the worldwide distribution of the titles that will be developed in partnership between TIMS&B and Plano a Plano.
TIMS&B Productions became one of Turkey’s leading production companies when founders Timur Savcı and Burak Sağyaşar decided to join their forces and establish a partnership in 2017. Since then, the company has produced numerous hit series that have aired in various territories across the globe.
An independent producer who cooperate with all Spanish platforms and broadcasters, Plano a Plano is an audiovisual production company specializing in fiction and entertainment.
Burak Sağyaşar, CEO of Tims&B Productions, said: “Today two successful production companies Tims and B Productions and Plano a Plano are setting off on a new journey together. I must say it is a big honour because it is the first time a Turkish and a Spanish company are combining their forces to achieve success in the international market.“
“Together we will produce an original series which will be a Turkish-Spanish co-production in the truest sense of the word. We’ll bring the two cultures together and get to touch mutual feelings. Until today, script rights and series had been sold or adapted between two countries. But today for the first time we will embark on a period of mutual development and production.“
“Our aim is to produce series with Spanish and Turkish drama codes that will be successful all over the world. In other words, we will produce a Spanish series with Turkish dna, so we will get to bring the best of both worlds together now that both countries are thriving in production.”
