The Preuvian network is registering notable ratings with its adaptation of the successful Korean format.
The Masked Singer, one of the world’s best-selling competition formats of 2019, continues to expand its legacy.
Latina from Peru joined the multiple international adaptations and premiered its own on February 29, locally titled La máscara. And the magic happened again.
The first show registered a 13.7 rating and reached 596,600 viewers 18+.
Although El reventonazo de la Chola, its competitor from América TV, recorded 15.7 points, the talent show managed to beat the rival network at all times (22:05 to 00:11).
The same happened in the second episode of La máscara, aired on Saturday, March 7, when it averaged 11.1 rating points and reached 509,000 people 18+.
TLa máscara is produced by Rayo en la Botella, and is filmed in Latina’s studios in Lima. Mathias Brivio is the host, and is accompanied by Gianella Neyra, Érika Villalobos, Armando Machuca and Carlos Vílchez as judges.
In the format, 16 celebrities appear hidden in colorful costumes and sing a song, which is commented by the team of researchers while trying to guess who is hiding behind each character. At the end of each gala, the audience present in the studio votes for their favorite character, and the least voted is eliminated, revealing their identity.
The original version, released in 2015 in South Korea as King of Mask Singer, continues to air on MBC and has accumulated more than 230 programs broadcast.
The format is distributed by MBC and Fremantle.
