Erika Kennair (fiction), Pam Healey (non-fiction), Ari Tan (strategy and operations), Robert Haiat (commercial), Leslie Cohen (global acquisitions), and Juan Pablo Santos (SVP of content for US Hispanic).
The Mediapro Studio’s headquarters in the US and Canada introduced six new executives in charge of strategic areas led by Juan ‘JC’ Acosta. These moves are in response to the strategy announced by Laura Fernández Espeso, the studio’s CEO, for the creation, production, and distribution of English-language content in all genres, including series, films, documentaries, formats, and entertainment programs for the North American market and global distribution.
Erika Kennair, producer of multi-award-winning series such as The Flight Attendant and last year’s Oscar-nominated short film Stranger at the Gate, will be responsible for fiction content.
Pam Healey, who has developed some of American television’s most iconic entertainment programs, such as First Dates, Who Do You Think You Are?, Real Housewives of New York City, Supernanny, and Child Genius, will be responsible for non-fiction content.
Two other executives with extensive experience in American television studios and networks join the team, including Ari Tan, now head of Strategy for Paramount’s International Studios, who will be responsible for strategy and operations.
Robert Haiat, formerly Senior Vice President of Business Development at Paramount Global and CBS Corporation, assumes responsibility for the commercial area.
The company also adds two executives who were already part of the team and now join the new division: Leslie Cohen, who will continue to serve as head of global acquisitions, and Juan Pablo Santos, who will continue as SVP of content for US Hispanic.
“It is an honor to welcome this group of excellent professionals to the management team of The Mediapro Studio US/Canada. Their broad experience, creative vision, and extensive experience in the audiovisual arena make them the ideal managers to ensure the development of our ambitious strategic plan,” said Acosta.
“I’m truly impressed with the brilliant creation and strong content that Laura Fdez Espeso and her team have developed. I look forward to collaborating with ‘JC’ to take that legacy further within the U.S. and Canada,” said Kennair.
“I’m thrilled to be joining The Mediapro Studio to form their non-fiction team in the U.S. and Canada,” noted Healey. “Working with a company that counts such powerful names among its creators and decision-makers is a dream come true. It is also the perfect time to showcase its impressive portfolio and innate international production capabilities to the U.S. market,” she concluded.
