The highly anticipated super series, produced by Telemundo Global Studios, will premiere on the Hispanic network in September.
Telemundo’s first-ever period Super Serie Malverde: El Santo Patrón (Malverde: The Patron Saint) is officially slated to premiere this September. The network confirmed the news in a new teaser which shows flashes of the series’ riveting action, offering hints of Malverde’s contrasting duality as both saint and bandit.
An original story by Luis Zelkowicz (El Señor de los Cielos,) Malverde: El Santo Patrón is an original Telemundo Global Studios production.
Starring Pedro Fernández (Hasta que el Dinero nos Separe, El Ganador), the groundbreaking period Super Series centers around Jesus Malverde, one of the biggest and most controversial Mexican characters of the last 150 years, who ultimately became a legendary figure and religious icon.
In addition to Fernández, the internationally renowned cast includes Carolina Miranda (Señora Acero Seasons 3-5, Who Killed Sara?) and Mark Tacher (La Reina del Sur 2, Papá a toda Madre); alongside the stellar participation of Alejandro Nones (Who Killed Sara?, La Piloto); Luis Felipe Tovar (El Recluso, The Mexican) and Isabella Castillo (El Señor de los Cielos, El Recluso).
