Scheduled to be filmed later this year, the original dramedy will star Mexican actress Silvia Navarro and US Hispanic star Jacky Bracamontes.
Telemundo announced today the production of La Suerte de Loli (Loli’s Luck), starring renowned Mexican actress Silvia Navarro as Loli, in her debut appearance on the Hispanic network. Scheduled to be filmed later this year, the original dramedy will also include a special participation from Mexican star and Telemundo’s very own, Jacky Bracamontes. The series is slated to premiere in 2021.
La Suerte de Loli will tell the story of Loli, a single and successful radio producer with a free spirit, living life with no attachments or complications. She’s a woman who has never found true love and has made the decision to never have children of her own. However, after her best friend’s unexpected death, Loli’s complication-free life will be turned upside down when she becomes a parent to the children left behind by her friend.
“We are excited to welcome Silvia, one of the most well-known actors in Mexico, to the Telemundo family for the first time to lead this original and contemporary story,” said Marcos Santana, President, Telemundo Global Studios. “La Suerte de Loli will deliver a true mix of comedy and drama, with a wide cast of relatable characters and storylines for our viewers to enjoy.”
Born in Mexico, television, film and theater star Silvia Navarro is best known for her roles in tv series Caer en Tentación, Cuando Seas Mía and Mi Corazón es Tuyo, which she also played in the theater. Her film credits include Labios Rojos, Te Presento a Laura and La Dictadura Perfecta, among others. She has also received multiple awards throughout her career including Premios People en Español, Premios TV y Novelas, and Association of Theater Critics and Journalists Awards.
Beloved network star Jacky Bracamontes, currently host of the second season of La Voz, will also join the cast for a special appearance. Bracamontes is well-known for serving as host of La Voz México (The Voice Mexico) for five seasons, as well as her roles in multiple successful telenovelas such as Las Tontas No Van al Cielo, Heridas de Amor and Sortilegio, plus multiple other Spanish-language television shows and specials.
La Suerte de Loli is an original idea by Lorena Miraglia and María José Riera, with Ricardo Alvarez and Amaris Paez serving as Head Writers, Berenica Cardenas, Christian Jimenez and Felipe Espinet as Writers, and Alejandro Quesada as Literary Advisor. Marcos Santana will be Showrunner of the series.
