The second edition of the hit format will premiere on Telemundo and Telemundo Internacional.

Following the success of its first season, Telemundo premieres today, on Telemundo and Telemundo Internacional, the second edition of La Isla, the local adaptation of the Caracol Television original format The Challenge, which has consistently dominated the entertainment slot in its home market.

In this new installment, 18 contestants arrive in the Caribbean ready to face an extreme adventure where physical and mental challenges are part of everyday life. Only one will overcome every obstacle to win the grand prize of US$200,000.

La Isla: Desafío Extremo is a high-adrenaline competition where participants face tests of physical endurance and mental strength across wild, remote landscapes in the Dominican Republic — including beaches, mountains, and forests.

The competition begins with 18 contestants divided into three teams: six TV Celebrities, six Reality Stars, and six Non-Celebrities. As the weeks go by, performance determines survival: one team will be dissolved, and its members will join the two strongest groups. In the final stage, the challenges become individual, and each contestant will fight for the title of champion and the ultimate prize.

Throughout the competition, contestants will face various tests — including Territory, Captain, Mission, Power, Punishment, Salvation, and Honor challenges, as well as Elimination Councils — where strategy, strength, and intelligence will determine who can outlast the rest.

Amid alliances, betrayals, and intense rivalries, participants will push their physical and emotional limits in an unpredictable and thrilling adventure from start to finish.
