Sky Studios’ new crime drama will premiere on the streaming platform later this year in Latin America, Brazil and Spain, as well as in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Japan.
Starzplay, Starz’s international premium streaming service, announced the acquisition of the high-voltage crime drama series Gangs of London, which will premiere before the end of the year exclusively in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Spain, as well as in Latin America, Brazil and Japan.
It is a Pulse Films production in association with Sister for Sky Studios.
From director Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, Gangs of London delves into the ins and outs of the criminal underworld that underlies today’s London. The series was recently renewed for a second season after wowing audiences with its gritty fight choreography and memorable action sequences.
For 20 years, Finn Wallace (Colm Meaney) was the most powerful criminal in London. Billions of pounds flowed through his organization each year. But now he’s dead and nobody knows who ordered the hit. With rivals everywhere, it’s up to the impulsive Sean Wallace (Joe Cole), with the help of the Dumani family led by Ed Dumani (Lucian Msamati), to take his father’s place.
If the situation was not already dangerous enough, Sean’s takeover has repercussions in the world of international crime. Perhaps the only man who could help him and be his ally is Elliot Finch (Sope Dirsu), a henchman of the criminal organization with a mysterious interest in the Wallace family. In this turbulent context, Elliot will find himself transported inside the largest criminal organization in London.
Gangs of London stars a cast of great actors that includes Joe Cole, Sope Dìrísù, Colm Meaney, Lucian Msamati, Michelle Fairley, Paapa Essiedu and Pippa Bennett-Warner. The series is created by filmmaker Gareth Evans and his creative partner Matt Flannery. Thomas Benski and Lucas Ochoa are executive producers for Pulse Films along with Jane Featherstone for Sister.
