The TV Movie, a TV3 production, will compete in the fiction category.
The Monte-Carlo Television Festival announced yesterday the nominees for its prestigious Golden Nymph Awards.
18 programs from 12 countries have been officially selected to compete across the News & Documentaries and Fiction categories, including 3 Worldwide premieres, 7 International premieres and 2 French premieres.
Among the nominees in the fiction category, one hispanic title stands out: Miró, produced by Set Màgic Audiovisual, Televisió de Catalunya (TV3), Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC), IB3 Televisió and À Punt Mèdia, for TV3.
The series follows the life and artistic career of highly talented and worldwide known artist, Joan Miró, directed by Oriol Ferrer.
The series will compete against Chorus Girls (Denmark), Fence (Japan), Le colosse aux pieds d’argile (France), Poker Face (USA), Ten Pund Poms (UK), The Seed (Germany, Norway, Czech Republic), The Warrant: Breaker’s Law (USA) and Trust No One (Israel).
The winners will receive their Awards at a glamourous Red-Carpet Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum on the final evening of the Festival, on Tuesday 20 June.
The 62nd edition of the Monte-Carlo TV Festival will see six Golden Nymph Awards presented in the Fiction Category, including Best Film, Best Series, Best Creation, Best Actress, Best Actor and the Jury Special Prize.
Three Golden Nymph Awards will be presented in the News & Documentaries category to Best News Program, Best Documentary and the Jury Special Prize.
For the second year, the innovative award the Public Prize in partnership with BetaSeries, will give fans the opportunity to participate in the Festival as real jurors and enable them to reward a programme in competition within the Official Selection.
All Official Selection entries within the Fiction category will be presented to the Festival’s attendees via public screenings in the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
