Cine en Español and Cine de Horror, advertising supported channels from SOMOS Fast (a company part of SOMOS Group), have seen significant growth in distribution, being present on televisions and other connected devices and internet platforms across the Americas. These “fast” channels, focused on Spanish-language cinema from all Spanish-speaking countries, strengthen SOMOS Group’s presence across all industry windows, both new and traditional, and participate in an increasingly popular option among the global audience.

The SOMOS Fast channels, launched approximately a year ago and distributed via Amagi, leverage synergies developed with other Group’s companies such as SOMOSTV, SOMOS Distribution, and SOMOS Films. Through these companies, industry relationships have been developed that facilitate access to productions worldwide, as well as valuable experience in the production of linear channels. The catalog of both channels is available in options such as AVOD (ad-supported video on demand), whose use and consumption are on the rise and they can be found on connected TVs like LG and TCL, among others, and on various platforms like Plex, Runtime, FlixLatino, and Kloud TV. Both channels also enjoy secondary distribution through streaming devices for use on traditional TVs (like Roku and set-top boxes). The company plans to continue expanding its presence in this market with the launch of new channels in 2025.

Luis Guillermo Villanueva, COO of SOMOS Fast, expressed: “We are satisfied with our performance in the Fast channels market. We believe that this option, which presents scale advantages and exceptional appeal to the audience, marks a milestone in digital television and in the strategy of those of us participating in the entertainment business. With Cine en Español and Cine de Horror, we participate in one of the most attractive genres and offer products with the quality recognized by the market. We have developed an efficient team, knowledgeable in this new technology in aspects of programming and commercialization. The channels have excellent penetration in important markets in the Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile), Andes (Colombia and Peru), Mexico, and progressively rising in the United States. In the coming days, we will announce the closing of negotiations that represent a qualitative and quantitative leap in distribution. Our new launches in 2025 will consolidate our presence in the Spanish-language market.”
