The Deputy Director of the Spanish group spoke with ttvnews during the current edition of Content Americas, where they are presenting Detective Romi and La Favorita 1922, and have already closed their first deals in the market.

After releasing several hits on multiple platforms, Mediterraneo managed to close a “spectacular” 2024 for its team, as Silvia Cotino, Deputy Director of Mediterráneo Mediaset España, summed up to ttvnews from Content Americas, where the group is presenting two major new releases for the US market.

“The two new releases that Mediterraneo is making available to the US market are two series with a different profile than what we had previously had in our catalogue,” explained the executive.

The first is La Favorita 1922, a Mediaset España series in collaboration with Bambú Producciones. “It’s the first time we’ve collaborated with Bambú, we’re very happy to be partners in this project. We’ve produced two seasons that haven’t aired yet. Each season has eight episodes for broadcast on Mediaset, but we’re making a special edition of 11 episodes per season for the international market.”

“We’ve already closed the first agreements,” revealed the executive, clarifying that they can’t give more details about them yet.

“The second new title is also a different twist to what we usually have in our catalogue, a procedural series called Detective Romi,” continued the executive. “The difference is that Romi is a detective who is deaf. Her deafness is caused by an accident in which her father died. In each self-contained episode, Romi discovers the cases in a very special way due to her disability, and then the general arc is the discovery of how her father died,” she explained.

“Both series will soon be on the air on Mediaset channels,” she added.

“We are very happy,” the executive summed up. “We are very proud of the work we have generated over the last five years. We always have new challenges and the desire to have a good time. We always try to establish innovative models with our partners.”

“We will soon premiere the fourth season of Entrevias on Netflix, we have had successes such as El Marques on Amazon Prime and 12 territories. And we are adding more. That is the intention. To have partners who continue with us and create long-standing relationships,” she concluded.
