Carlota Vieira, Deputy Director of Content Sales at SIC, spoke with ttvnews about the innovative release model for her series, Vitoria, and previewed a new title they will be presenting at Mip Cancun.

Following the success of La promesa, an adaptation of the Turkish drama Ruthless City, from Kanal D, SIC of Portugal is once again repeating its winning formula with its latest release.
Vitoria, an adaptation of Global Agency’s Turkish drama, Gulperi, produced by SIC, SP Televisão, and Disney, is being presented at Mipcom this week after its premiere.
“Vitoria is the story of a mother who wants to get her children back after being sent to prison. It has been launched with a new release strategy with our VOD platform, OPTO, and with Disney+. And then it airs on Free TV from Monday to Friday. It started out very successfully. We’re sure it will be another hit like La Promesa,” said Carlota Vieira, Deputy Director of Content Sales at SIC.
“This model helps us manage the same content in a different way of consuming it. Because we also believe there are slightly different audiences for both,” she explained. “What matters is that the content appeals to both audiences and that people focus on and follow the content.”
“We’re showing the first three episodes with English subtitles. I estimate Victoria will have about 140 episodes. We want to divide it into seasons, because we did the same with La Promesa. La Promesa has three seasons of 58, 54, and 29 episodes; a total of 141.”
Vitoria is one of the titles SIC will be presenting at the upcoming edition of MIP Cancun, along with another major new release.
“At MIP Cancun, we’re launching a new, shorter, younger-looking series, which will be released on Prime Video this month,” the executive revealed. “It’s called Luna Roja. It’s a 2010 series, a very, very successful youth vampire series. And it’s being revisited in a spin-off of that old series we had, which featured a couple in love. Now the story is about that couple’s daughter, and the actors who performed in the original have been brought back.”
