Semillitas, the 24-hour commercial-free Spanish-language children’s animation channel owned by SOMOSTV (a company presided over by Luis Villanueva), will premiere the first season of the renowned animated series for preschoolers, Maya the Bee, on Monday, April 10th.
The channel will premiere the series for its audience in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and all of Central America and becomes part of the SOMOSTV preschool channel’s branded animation catalog.
Maya the Bee is an animated television series based on the 1976 German-Japanese series of the same name. Maya the Bee has been exhibited in numerous international markets, including several European countries, as well as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The series has also been broadcast in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, among others, and in Africa.
Maya the Bee has been of great value in the programming of many television channels in the 120 countries where it has been sold. Now, the first season comes to Semillitas TV with 12-minute-long episodes. In this first season, Maya, a naive, curious, adventurous, and inquisitive little bee, navigates an environment full of all kinds of insects and, with her friend Willy (the drone), explores the world around her, discovering new friendships and situations to resolve. The animated series has great reception among preschoolers, with recurring themes of friendship and problem-solving. This season teaches the importance of cooperation, tolerance, solidarity, and respect for the environment.
