As a global distribution company, New Era Entertainment represents cutting-edge independent films for North American distribution and sales. And having just attended Content Americas to focus on the Hispanic market, the company now made its way to Natpe Global to continue to expand their catalog’s potential.
“Content Americas is Hispanic and Latam, so we were able to meet with different channels and acquisitions executives for the region”, Samantha Richardson, Content Programmer at New Era Entertainment, said to ttvnews at the event. “Here at Natpe we’re also meeting platforms, but more focused on North America and that’s where our distribution is. So we’re catching up with platforms and partners.”
With two labels, Devilworks -horror- and New Era -family-friendly, holiday titles-, the company is now more focused on the latter, presenting the new titles in their varied catalog.
The executive highlighted several original productions, such as Lucky Heart, a feel-good holiday romance; or A Christmas Dream, which was shot in Italy and it’s a romance set on a ranch; as well as acquired titles such as UK production Mother Maker Lover Taker, a coming of age, LGBTQ horror title; or American Masquerade, an Australian film, action-packed thriller.
“And we just finished production on a Christmas title which will come out this Fall, ready for the season,” she said. “We have four productions coming up.”
These genres are some of the most in demand in today’s industry, something the company works hard at trying to always figure out. “This industry is impossible to predict, it’s always changing and evolving. But we do our best to listen, to ask platforms what they’re looking for and figure out what’s working the best, as well as if there’s a type of content that’s lacking in the market,” she concluded.
