The group’s VP of Sales and Acquisitions spoke with ttvnews at Natpe Budapest about their two major co-productions with India: Kuma, co-produced with GoQuest, which will premiere during the market; and Valentina, along with Zee TV, which will begin filming in July.

Present for the second year at Natpe Budapest, VIP 2000 TV arrived at the market with the aim of opening its way into new territories and building ties with clients from other regions.

“This is our second year in Natpe Budapest. It has been a wonderful experience because little by little we have managed to do business outside the Hispanic world, meeting new clients,” Rosalind Rotundo, VP of Sales and Acquisitions of VIP 2000 TV, began in dialogue with ttvnews .

And on this occasion, the group came to the event with two big production projects. On the one hand, they are preparing to present their new co-production, Kuma, The Other Wife, to the international market.

“The big news is that with our co-producing partners at GoQuest we will have the premiere of the first screening of our Turkish telenovela Kuma this Wednesday. We are very excited about it,” said the executive.

Kuma is the first unique co-production between India and Latin America. From India there is GoQuest Media and from LatAm, VIP 2000 TV, with production by Stellar Yapim and Inci Gulen Oarr as showrunner.

Kuma narrates the journey of Ceylan, who runs away from home and meets Karan, a rich young businessman. They fall in love and soon get married. But when Ceylan is accused of murder, Karan marries his brother’s widow and forces Ceylan to become his kuma, a second wife, to have children.

Leading the cast are the dynamic Aybüke Yilmaz and Emre Özmen, who play the characters of Ceylan and Karan, respectively. Aybüke Yilmaz is known for her starring role in the 2023 series Fedakar, while Emre Özmen, an award-winning actor, has been acclaimed for his extensive work in Turkish films, dramas and theatre. They are joined by Ufuk Kaplan, famous for her role in Ask-I Memnu / Forbidden Love.

“And the second news is that in July we will begin filming the co-production with Zee TV from India, the first co-production between an Indian company and a Spanish-American company, which we began recording in July. A 60-episode telenovela that is going to be called Valentina,” she added.

The story is inspired by the acclaimed Indian telenovela Aapki Antara, a series produced in 2009 with great success in India for its moving representation of social problems, especially autism.

The daily primetime series called Valentina, mi amor especial; is a brand new IP, set in the picturesque city of Guadalajara, Mexico. The soap opera promises to captivate global audiences with a modern twist, with a touching love story about a young woman with autism who is also a genius in the technological world.
