This partnership marks a pivotal moment in ReelShort’s journey to redefine global entertainment and Caracol TV’s further leadership in the Latam market.

ReelShort, the leading platform for vertically shot, binge-worthy dramas, is furthering its footprint in Latin America by working with Colombia’s Caracol TV. The move builds on an initial licensing deal and now includes the production of new Spanish-language content — a key step in ReelShort’s ongoing Latam expansion.

ReelShort first worked with Caracol TV in the summer of 2024, licensing a slate of eight titles that included both beloved classics and contemporary Colombian dramas. ReelShort simultaneously launched production of its most popular shows in Latam, adapting to the culture and quickly proving successful. This marked a turning point, showing strong demand for short-form, high-drama storytelling in Spanish-speaking markets.

“At Caracol TV, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to connect with global audiences, and this collaboration with ReelShort marks an exciting milestone. Launching our first telenovela in this format allows us to blend our expertise in compelling storytelling with the dynamic, on-the-go viewing habits of today’s digital generation”, said Lisette Osorio, VP International Business, Caracol Televisión.

“We saw an opportunity to build something much bigger in Latam,” said Sammie Hao, ReelShort Licensing. “After licensing proved successful, the next natural step was to go local — to work with Caracol not just as a content provider, but as a creative production partner to continue the force in Latam.”

Now, Caracol TV is producing an original ReelShort series in Colombia, which began filming this month and is set for release in summer 2025. The series is part of ReelShort’s broader initiative to create Spanish-language content that meets the platform’s unique vertical-first format — short episodes, high emotion, and optimized for mobile audiences.

This co-production with Caracol marks an exciting step: the channel has embraced experimenting with a new narrative format. From production, we’ve worked to blend the local essence with the agility and excitement that define ReelShort,” said Maritza Castro, CPM of ReelShort Latam Productions.

While Caracol has previously explored digital storytelling through web series, this new approach — super-short, snackable episodes designed for fast-paced viewing — is showing great success in the Latin community, proving that storytelling knows no boundaries.

This partnership marks a pivotal moment in ReelShort’s journey to redefine global entertainment and Caracol TV’s further leadership in the Latam market.
