Armas de mujer, a dramedy produced by Telemundo Global Studios, will star Kate del Castillo, joined by Roselyn Sánchez, Sylvia Sáenz and Jeimy Osorio.
Roselyn Sánchez (Devious Maids, Grand Hotel), Sylvia Sáenz (Betty en NY, 100 días para enamorarnos) and Jeimy Osorio (La suerte de Loli, Betty en NY, Celia) will join Mexican super star Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur) in Peacock’s announced original series, Woman’s Guns.
The series, a Spanish-language dramedy that will premiere later this year on the Comcast platform, has the same team behind the Telemundo hit, La Reina del Sur.
Four women suffer their worst nightmare after the police arrest their husbands for being linked to the same criminal organization. Accustomed to a life of abundance, now they will need to join forces in the most unusual way.
Kate del Castillo plays the star role of Angela, wife of the cartel’s accountant and the fortuitous leader of this group of women who will go from being carefree wives living in luxurious homes, to women willing to use all the weapons at their disposal to survive.
Roselyn Sánchez will play Sofía, the tough wife of the cartel killer. A harmful obsession will lead Sofia to dark places, forcing her to make unforgivable decisions.
Sylvia Sáenz will play Viri, wife of one of the supreme bosses in the cartel’s hierarchy. Although Viri is shy, she will do anything to try to control her family and prevent them from slipping through her fingers.
Jeimy Osorio will play Esme, the independent and fearless wife of the leader of the cartel killers. Driven by the desire to reclaim her old life, it is clear that her own life is above all else.
Armas de mujer is a Telemundo Global Studios production. Marcos Santana is serving as executive producer alongside Mariana Iskandarani. The series is directed by Enrique Begné and Claudia Pedraza, and created by José Luis Acosta.
