In a year and a half of presence, ViX opened a window of great opportunities for Spanish-language content production companies like W Studios, which do not stop growing.

The business of producing Spanish-language TV shows is rapidly growing and consolidating with the emergence of solid platforms like ViX. Over the past year and a half, ViX has become an important hub for receiving content from production companies like W Studios, which TelevisaUnivision owns. W Studios delivers two to three series annually to the Hispanic content platform.
During the Content Americas conference in Miami, ttwnews interviewed Patricio Wills, president of W Studios, who commented that they are very pleased with what is being achieved with the series they produce for ViX. “It’s a new platform, but in a year and a half, the numbers are magnificent. For the producers, to be working for a platform of that caliber of production only in Spanish and for Hispanics is an honor and a pleasure,” he said.
The president of W Studios, said “we are dedicated to the production of series, which we call serielas for ViX, we have already made several, the last one with great success which is El gallo de oro, a beautiful story starring Lucero and José Ron. We are also working on novelas, we are currently recording Juana la virgen in Mexico for Las Estrellas and Univision,” he said.
According to the W Studios executive, the series they are developing for ViX is a product with a very special skin because they are compact stories that used to be very long, referring to the telenovela format. “We are making two or three series per year for ViX, which makes us very happy, making short stories in 20 chapters.”
Regarding the success of the products they are developing, Wills was pleased and said that each product is different; not all of them do so well, but in the 10 years they have been making content for TelevisaUnivision, he assures that they have had an even performance and without too many ups and downs.
“At this moment, we have ViX’s support, not only to develop new ideas but also to have reasonable budgets, which are not so common recently in the industry,” concluded the representative of W Studios.
