The executive joins the Spanish production company to direct the Content Development and International Co-Productions division.

Onza consolidates its commitment to fiction content with the appointment of Valentina Pozzoli, an executive with extensive experience in the development of audiovisual fiction content (cinema, television and podcast).

Pozzoli assumes the direction of the content development and international co-productions area of the Spanish production company founded in 2014 by José María Irisarri, Gonzalo Sagardía and Nicolás Bergareche.

With more than ten years of experience in the entertainment sector, Pozzoli joined the Italian production company Lux Vide, where she led the department of feature films for cinema, carrying out the production of Blanca como la Nieve, Roja como la sangre and worked on international fiction projects such as Guerra o paz, among others.

Pozzoli, whose career has always led her to innovation and discovery of creative talent, has worked and lived in Rome, Milan, Madrid and Los Angeles. Precisely in this last city, her time at the creative development department of the Spanish-born production company Hero Pictures stands out, among whose projects were The Albert Einstein Biopic Project, written by the winner of the Academy Award Ron Bass and Vanity, the first film from Oscar-nominated director Bobby Garabedian.

“I am excited about this new stage. I am passionate about fostering and promoting new and diverse talents; and above all tell relevant stories of social interest, and the Onza team is a benchmark in the same vein,” commented Valentina.

Gonzalo Sagardía, CEO of Onza, added: “The incorporation of Valentina to Onza represents the reinforcement of our fiction area, where we hope to continue our growth in the coming years. Onza’s model, of co-production with creative talent, is having great acceptance among the community of writers in our country and Latin America. Valentina’s extensive experience in developing fiction projects and her talent will be of great help to all of our partners in their creative process.”

Onza is responsible for series such as El Ministerio del Tiempo (with Globomedia and Cliffhanger), Hernán (with Dopamine), Pequeñas coincidencias (with Atresmedia Studios and MedioLimón) or Parot (with VIS and RTVE).

In January 2021, the production company opened its subsidiary in Miami under the name Onza Américas by the hand of Emiliano Calemzuk and Vincenzo Gratteri with new development and production projects for the United States and the Latin market.
