Award-winning series Love’s In Sight! and Homeroom will be adapted by Astro and air across its multiple platforms.

Nippon TV, Japan’s leading multiplatform entertainment powerhouse, announced today that they have finalized a deal with Astro, Malaysia’s leading content and entertainment company which has acquired the rights to Nippon TV’s award-winning scripted formats Love’s In Sight! (60 min. eps.) and Homeroom (60 min. eps.).

Juita Viden, one of Malaysia’s largest independent distributor for local and international content brokered the Malaysian adaptation deal for both formats. Astro is set to air the Malay-language version of Love’s In Sight! (Dari Mata Turun ke Hati in Malaysia) starting August 12th and Homeroom (Kelas Tahanan Cikgu Hiragi in Malaysia) to follow.

The announcement was made today by Sally Yamamoto, Format Licensing, Content Business, Nippon TV.

Love’s In Sight! is a romantic comedy and coming-of-age story for the new generation, offering a blend of laughter, tears, and occasional surprises. Based on a hit manga, this love series follows a strong-minded girl who attends a school for the blind due to her low vision. Despite her strong will, she is shy when it comes to matters of the heart until one fateful day when her life changes upon meeting a young juvenile delinquent. Because of a scar on his face, he had led a rough and lonesome life, but beneath his tough exterior, is just a pure-hearted kid. Her family is against the relationship, but their chance encounter sparks mutual understanding, independence in society, and a very unexpected romance, supported by surrounding friends who also are facing their own challenges such as gender identity and social issues.

Ten days before high school graduation, the teacher takes his 29 students hostage, uncovering the truth behind a classmate’s unexplained suicide.
