Starting Tuesday, April 21, the biographical series about the Latin singer, produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog, will be available to the platform’s users in the US.
Nicky Jam: El Ganador, the biographical series based on the life and career of the Latin music superstar, will be available to Netflix members in the US starting Tuesday, April 21.
The 13-episode series previously premiered on Netflix internationally.
The series is directed by acclaimed film and music video director Jessy Terrero and is produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America. Juan Diego Medina of La Industria Inc. and Sergio Pizzolante are the executive producers.
It tells the story of award-winning Nicky Jam, a singer and songwriter who became a worldwide music hit. From his humble and difficult origins in Boston to his fall in the streets and his return to become the king of one of the most popular musical genres, this is not only the life of Nicky Jam, but the history of reggaeton itself.
“I have heard many of my fans on social media and in person say that they have been waiting for the opportunity to watch the series in the United States on Netflix,” said Nicky Jam. “Now you can see it from April 21 and I hope you enjoy it as many others have done around the world. I am really proud of what we created.”
“I am excited to bring this level of narrative to reggaeton,” added Terrero. “The popularity of the genre gives our story, and others like it, the opportunity to reach a much wider audience. This is my mission with Cinema Giants. Nicky’s story is inspiring in many ways, I am proud to be a part of this project. “
