New ViX Original Comedy Oríllese a la Orilla Set to Premiere July 12

The series is a Lado B. production. The first episode will be available to sample on ViX’s free plan on July 12, while Mexican audiences will be able to enjoy it on Thursday, July 11 at 11 p.m. on las estrellas.

ViX announced today that its new comedy Oríllese a la Orilla, a spinoff of the hit Mexican series 40 y 20, will premiere July 12 and unveiled the official trailer and key art. The 12 episodes will be available on premiere day exclusively on the service’s premium tier.

In addition, the first episode will be available to sample on ViX’s free plan on July 12 while Mexican audiences will be able to enjoy it on Thursday, July 11 at 11 p.m. on las estrellas.

Based on the hit series 40 y 20, Oríllese a la Orilla tells the history of Brayan and Toña, who, after losing their jobs, decide to enroll in the Police Academy. Once there, they get haircuts and work harder than they ever have to realize their dream of becoming police officers. Right when they’re about to drop out, they find out that they will graduate early because of the high demand for cops on the streets. Toña and Brayan have countless adventures and get in assorted jams at the Academy.

The new original comedy stars Michelle Rodríguez (Mirreyes contra Godinez 2, Canta y no llores) returning as Toña, with special guest star Armando Hernández (Papá o mamá, Senda prohibida) as Brayan Daniel.

Rounding out the cast are Luis Rodríguez “Guana” (Cita a ciegas, Pacto de silencio), Jesús Ochoa (Quiero tu vida, La usurpadora), Ana Jimena Villanueva (El Halcón: sed de venganza, Donde hubo fuego), María Elena Saldaña (El taxista caliente, El sexo me da risa 4), Mario Zaragoza (Un buen divorcio, Los skywatchers), Sofía Aragón (La noche, La voz), Archie Balardi (Bataca, Esperanza de un poeta). Gustavo Loza directs the series.
