The series was created by Jason George based on Gillian McAllister’s bestselling novel of the same name and produced by Txintxua Films S.L. for Netflix.

Netflix announced the start of filming for That Night, its new series based on Gillian McAllister’s Sunday Times bestselling British novel. Filming, which has just begun, will occur between the Dominican Republic and the provinces of Guipúzcoa and Navarra in Spain.

During a family vacation in the Dominican Republic, Elena (Clara Galle) runs over a man with her car. Desperate and frightened, she calls her sisters, Paula (Claudia Salas) and Cris (Paula Usero), asking for help. When they arrive, they must decide how to deal with the accident because they cannot bear the thought of their younger sister going to jail, leaving their only nephew without their mother.

How far will they be willing to go to help protect their family? That Night forces three sisters to confront the depth of love, the weight of loyalty, and the limits that can be reached for family.

McAllister explains on the adaptation of her novel, “I am very excited and grateful that Netflix Spain has committed to a series based on That Night, my novel, which asks: how far would you be willing to go for your sister? Would you lie to her? Would you commit a crime for her? And, at the most extreme limit, would you bury a body with her no matter what the consequences? This novel generated a lot of conversation in the UK, and I can’t wait for it to hit screens worldwide, and to do so with this incredible cast.”

The series, based on the bestseller of the same name by Gillian McAllister and produced by Txintxua Films S.L. for Netflix, was created by Jason George (Narcos, Into The Night), who also serves as executive producer along with Marian Fernández Pascal (Intimidad, Amama). George also signs the scripts along with Lara Sendim (Los renglones torcidos de Dios, El Inocente), who also serves as creative producer. Jorge Dorado (Mindscape, The Head) and Liliana Torres (Mamífera, Kimeres) will direct.

Starring Clara Galle (Ni una más, Olympo), Claudia Salas (Élite, Salvador) and Paula Usero (Las abogadas, Amar es para siempre).
