La bestia
La bestia, David Casademunt’s debut feature, starring Inma Cuesta (El desorden que dejas), Roberto Álamo and Asier Flores (Dolor y gloria), began filming at the beginning of February in an impressive moor in the province of Teruel. The location is “a fundamental element to delve into history”, highlight its producers Joaquín Padró, Mar Targarona and Marina Padró, who convey their enthusiasm for working again with new talents such as director David Casademunt and co-writers Fran Menchón and Martí Lucas , and “in the genre we like the most: terror.”
It tells the story of a family that lives isolated from the rest of society and whose tranquility is disturbed by the presence of a terrifying creature that will test the ties that bind them. Produced by Rodar y Rodar, the film was part of the first edition of ECAM’s La Incubadora.
Las niñas de cristal
On February 8, filming for Las niñas de cristal, the new film by director Jota Linares for Netflix, began in Madrid, with María Pedraza as the protagonist. The actress and dancer takes on the shoes of Irene, the replacement for the great star of the National Classical Ballet after the latter’s unexpected suicide, under the orders of the choreographer Antonio Ruz.
The film, written by Jota Linares and Jorge Naranjo themselves, has a cast of new actors led by Paula Losada, all of them professional dancers, along with whom we will also see Mona Martínez, Marta Hazas, Ana Wagener, Olivia Baglivi, Juanjo Almeida and Fernando Delgado.
“The film speaks through fiction about all my obsessions and about my need, like that of my entire generation, to find a place in the world. I really wanted to talk about fear and the places that, unconsciously, we create to protect ourselves from it,” said Jota Linares.
Produced by Federation Spain, the Spanish affiliate of the international Federation, which is committed to alliances with new talents who seek to consolidate nationally and internationally, as Nacho Manubens, producer of the film together with Juan Solá, Toni Sevilla and Mark Albela.
