The list of upcoming titles revealed this Thursday includes series, films and non-fiction content.
Netflix has presented this Thursday in Madrid a preview of what will be its programming for the coming months.
And among the upcoming titles stand several new original productions.
In the field of series, the OTT platform announced El silencio, a thriller created by Aitor Gabilondo (Patria) and produced by Alea Media. At the moment no more details were given regarding its story or cast.
Also announced was Smiley (title pending), a comedy adapted from Guillem Clua’s play of the same title produced by Minority Absolute.
In non-fiction, the new titles revealed were ¿A quién le gusta mi follower?, a new dating show presented by Luján Argüelles, which will also features the special participation of Jedet, Aroyitt and Jonan Wiergo; and ¿Dónde está Marta?, a docuseries directed by Paula Cons that arrives on Netflix on November 5 and that analyzes one of the most paradigmatic and unusual criminal cases in Spain, the disappearance of Marta del Castillo.
At the film level, the new titles are, on the one hand, Infiesto (title pending), written and directed by Patxi Amezcua, starring Isak Férriz and Iria del Río and produced by Vaca Films, whose filming begins this Thursday, October 28, in Gijón.
This film starts on the first day of the state of alarm, where two inspectors are called to a small mining town in the Asturian mountains where a young woman has appeared who had been presumed dead for months. As the world crumbles and personal tragedies strike, detectives quickly realize that the virus may not be the only dark force at work.
On the other is Nowhere (title pending), directed by Albert Pintó, starring Anna Castillo and produced by Miguel Ruz.
The film takes place in the near future and is about Nada, a young pregnant woman who escapes from a country at war hidden in a container aboard a cargo ship. Halfway through the voyage, a violent storm throws the container into the sea. Trapped in the metal coffin, Nada gives birth to her daughter. Now, weakened by childbirth, adrift, without food or water, she must fight to survive and save the girl.
NEW SEASONS
The platform also announced new seasons of existing series. For example Valeria, they confirmed, will have a third and final season. Elite, meanwhile, also received the renewal for a sixth season while Elite: historias breves returns with a new installment: Holidays Edition.
CONFIRMED CASTS
Finally, the platform revealed new details of the projects already announced:
Hasta el cielo: Daniel Calparsoro’s film adaptation. This new series will continue the story of a gang of thieves, who managed to put the Madrid Police Force in check. As in the feature film, the direction will be in charge of Daniel Calparsoro, and Jorge Guerricaechevarría will sign the script for this new fiction that stars Luis Tosar, Asia Ortega, Álvaro Rico, Asia Ortega Leiva Alana Porra, Patricia Vico, Ayax Pedrosa, Dollar Selmouni, Richard Holmes and Carmen Sánchez.
La chica de nieve: the adaptation of the homonymous novel by Javier Castillo. The action will move from New York to Malaga, during the Three Kings parade. Milena Smit (Madres paralelas, Alma) will portray the journalist who investigates the disappearance of a girl.
Feria: la luz más oscura: it will premiere in January 2022. The thriller created by Agustín Martínez and Carlos Montero, and directed by Jorge Dorado and Carles Torrens, stars Carla Campra, Ana Tomeno, Isak Férriz, Marta Nieto, Ángela Cremonte, Patricia López and Ernest Villegas, among others. The first images are already available.
A ciegas (title pending): from the producers of the international phenomenon A ciegas, now comes an expansion of the universe that conquered audiences in 2018. A mysterious force has decimated the world’s population, pushing everyone who looks at it to kill themselves. Now, Sebastian and his daughter Anna must set out on their own path to survival through the deserted streets of Barcelona. But as they forge fragile alliances with other survivors and seek refuge, a threat more sinister than the invisible beings grows. The filming of this ambitious production, directed by Àlex and David Pastor, will begin in the coming weeks in Barcelona and will star Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado, Celia Freijeiro, with Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
A través de mi ventana: the film based on the international literary phenomenon written by Ariana Godoy and directed by Marçal Fores, which e will hit Netflix on February 4.
Amor de madre: the comedy directed by Paco Caballero, starring Carmen Machi and Quim Gutiérrez, and produced by Morena Films and Lab Cinema, which will arrive on Netflix in spring 2022 and whose cast is completed by Yolanda Ramos and Justina Bustos.
