Natpe Budapest, the global television market focused on the regions of Central and Eastern Europe and EMEA, closed its third day today at the InterContinental Budapest Hotel.

Brunico Communications, organizers of the event, have already presented the official numbers of attendees for this edition, revealing that they welcomed 850 total participants, 18% more than the previous edition, highlighting 125 exhibiting companies and 430 buyers, representing nearly 70 countries.

“We’ve had really strong attendance across the board. 145 exhibitors and partners, which is great, you’ve surely seen the market floor was buzzing. Among the 125 exhibitors we welcomed A+E Media, NBC, Paramount, Sony, WBD, Televisa bringing in some of that LatAm presence, so we are really happy. Our clients had packed schedules across the board, so it was a very successful event”, the organization said during in a press conference.

“We had 430 registered buyers. We had people coming in from all over the world, with nearly 70 countries represented, an 18% increase from last year”.

From a content perspective, the event acted as a preview for the upcoming joint-event with Realscreen. “We tried to offer a nice preview of our Natpe Global and Realscreen co-location, which is happening in February 2025”, the organization said.

As it was announced earlier this year, the 2025 editions of Realscreen Summit and Natpe Global will share a location at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami. Each event, which will take place in the week of February 3 to 7, will retain its own discrete agenda and programs while giving attendees the option to seamlessly participate in both markets. Realscreen Summit will kick off the week, followed by NATPE Global, with a midweek crossover day linking the two events.

“Also our screenings were really strong this year, with screenings from Sony, ZDF, A+E, Antenna, GoQuest… People are really coming to us as a venue to launch global content. And we had great speakers and conferences as well”, they added.

On this third day, Antenna showcased its new series The Witch and Soul Daughters, while GoQuest shared the first preview of their new Turkish drama Kuma, The Other Wife, in co-production with VIP 2000 TV.

Along with the conference agenda and high-end screenings, the organization highlighted the networking aspect of the event: “What really impressed people is the amount of business that’s really getting done, people are closing deals, having real negotiations. We have great programming and great networking events, but it’s important to highlight that it’s really a marketplace where business is getting done”, they said.

Lastly, in regards to the high number of event taking place in the international market during these dates, the organization explained there are no plans to switch dates to a different time of the year, but rather make sure Natpe is the go-to event for the industry as a whole. “Next year’s dates are already set and we will be announcing them shortly”, they concluded.
