Accustomed to making their mark at every industry event, Dori Media Group kicked off this latest edition of LA Screenings Independents with a major production announcement: the group will be launching the new original series Young Suchard, which follows the early life of sensational international mentalist Lior Suchard, to the global market later this year.
“Young Suchard is a scripted title, going to be 20 episodes, on Kan 11, an Israeli broadcaster”, said Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media, in conversation with ttvnews in Los Angeles.
This new announcement comes in the heels of another major production news that the company revealed earlier this month: they will be the international distributors for The Auction, a new game show produced with Abot Hameiri, in alliance with América Televisión, Kapow and Open Kimono, and which will premiere on America TV in Peru very soon.
“The Auction is very interesting, because it involves five different companies from different countries: Argentina, Peru and Israel. We created it in Israel together with Abot Hameiri, and we signed a deal with America TV for it to be on air in July. America TV also brought Kapow from Argentina, and Open Kimono. All together it’s been very interesting and complex”, the CEO explained.
“We think it’s going to be a great successful game shows. If we convinced five different companies to do it, we have optimism and a lot of expectation. We want to sell it worldwide”, he added.
The executive also revealed they are already in the process of developing more game shows, with one that is currently in development in Israel, but can’t be announced yet.
“In the last 23 years we’ve produced in Latin America and we continue to produce in Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina mainly. What we are doing now in Peru is a co-production of a non-scripted title. And I believe we will see it more and more. We are working on our new game shows that we want to find the right partners for in Latam to launch”, he revealed.
On this note, one of Dori Media’s most successful unscripted formats is Power Couple, which has been sold in dozens of countries and continues to find success worldwide.
“Power Couple is doing great in Brazil with Record TV, doing 74 episodes per season, which is amazing. We continue to sell it worldwide, It’s now more than 1000 episodes, 20 countries, and every year there are more territories and seasons”, he said.
“We were looking for a hub for Power Couple and I’m sure that in 2026 we will be on air with Power Couple in a hub. We don’t know exactly when, but we have a good idea. After we launch the hub, people will see that it works, and a lot of countries will come. If we manage to reduce the costs for them, other countries and channels across the region will be able to afford to do it. It’s relatively expensive to produce Power Couple, so hopefully we will launch the hub for most of the territories to afford to produce it”, he explained.
And in terms of deals, María Pérez Campi, Sales Director, US Hispanic & Latam at Dori Media Group, revealed they are getting ready to make three major announcements in just a few weeks.
“Next month, in June, we’ll be announcing three important deals in the region, especially in the Southern Cone, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. We hope to have news soon. It’s important because we’re doing a lot of things in Brazil, like the seventh season of Power Couple, and in production on the sixth season of Sesión de Terapia. And now we have something very new coming up. We believe we’ll have these new developments, in addition to the first episode of The Auction, to show by midyear. It’s going to be a very busy midyear,” she revealed.
