Entitled Todos mienten, the new original series from Movistar+ is a Filmax production. It will have six episodes that will begin filming this Monday, October 5.
Movistar+ unveiled a new original series: Todos mientes (Everyone lies), a 45-minute six-episode thriller created, written and directed by Pau Freixas (Días de Navidad, Sé quién eres, Pulseras rojas).
Produced in collaboration with Filmax, the fiction will begin filming next Monday, October 5 in and around Barcelona, and will run for 12 weeks.
This is a new bet by Movistar+ on the thriller genre, one that it has already explored with series such as La peste, El embarcadero, Hierro, Instinto, La Unidad or Antidisturbios.
Todos mienten tells the story of how Macarena (Irene Arcos), a resident teacher in an exclusive urbanization, becomes a social outcast after people learn that she has maintained a relationship with one of her students.
“Todos mienten is a puzzle, a mystery, a puzzle. Like the heads of our protagonists, the series is an enigma; and when we manage to understand them, we will see that beyond moral judgments, their fears and illusions are very similar to our own,” explains Freixas.
Irene Arcos (The Pier) as Macarena, and Natalia Verbeke in the role of Ana, lead the cast alongside Goya winner Leonardo Sbaraglia (Félix, Dolor y Gloria) as Néstor, and Ernesto Alterio (Perfect Strangers, Narcos) as Diego.
The main cast is completed by: Miren Ibarguren, Juan Diego Botto, Eva Santolaria, Amaia Salamanca, Jorge Bosch and the youngsters Lucas Nabor, Carmen Arrufat, Berta Castañé, Marc Balaguer and Lu Colomina.
