The Mediapro Studio Distribution closed its passage through the current edition of Mipcom with an “outstanding balance”, in the words of the company, thanks to a great reception of the contents presented by the company, which extends the distribution of some of its most popular series and films iconic such as Paraíso, Express and La edad de la ira, on the main streaming platforms and television operators around the world.

“It is an extraordinary balance, not only because of the large influx of professionals in the market, but also because of the interest that our titles have aroused among all customers and new buyers with whom we hope to further strengthen our relationships and continue working to extend even more the international presence of our content”, commented Marta Ezpeleta, Director of Distribution and International Offices of The Mediapro Studio.

Canal+ has confirmed the acquisition of the second season of Paraíso, the ambitious fantasy genre series directed by Fernando González Molina, whose first season premiered last year on the French operator.

The international success of the series, which is broadcasted by Movistar Plus+ in Spain and has established itself as one of The Mediapro Studio’s recent productions with the greatest international distribution, continues to attract operators with the sale of its two seasons to Prime Video India, which adds as well as HBO Max (USA and Latin America), CBC/Radio-Canada or Sky (Germany), among others.

For its part, Express, Lionsgate+’s first fiction production in Spanish, an addictive thriller created by Ivan Escobar (Vis a Vis) and Antonio Sánchez Olivas, makes the leap to Canada thanks to the agreement with the Canadian public network CBC/Radio- Canada (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Societé Radio-Canada) for the premiere of its first season.

Starring Maggie Civantos in the role of a criminal psychologist specializing in the investigation of express kidnappings, the series is about to premiere its second season on Lionsgate+ in Spain and Latin America.

Another of The Mediapro Studio’s major releases this year, La edad de la ira, co-produced with Atresmedia, also expands its international presence with the acquisition by the Greek operator of Cosmote TV Greece, the streaming service owned by the telecommunications operator Greek OTE.

Finally, it is also worth noting the interest that continues to arouse the action thriller Hunting Ava Bravo the film with Kate del Castillo, directed by Gary Auerbach and produced with Wild Sheep, Eric Barmack’s company, which this summer has positioned itself as one of the most watched content on Amazon Prime Video in Latin America and whose rights have been acquired by Cosmote TV Greece.
