The event brought together more than 800 participants at the Moon Palace Resort Hotel, where the presence of new buyers, 30% newcomers according to the organization, together with attractive screenings and conferences, set the tone of a first-class event for the Latin American industry.

Uniting to grow and face costs was the motto of the Latin American and Hispanic industry present at MipCancun 2023, which celebrated ten years with this new event, held at the Moon Palace Resort Hotel, from November 14 to 17.
In an industry that has contracted after the rapid return to activity after the pandemic, alliances -in particular, co-productions- were once again the central topic of discussion among executives in Cancún. According to the organization, more than 800 people participated in the event, with 30% new companies making their debut.
“We are super happy for this tenth anniversary,” said the director of the event, María Pérez-Bellière. “Beyond the numbers, which are important, what we always focus on is maintaining this very united community that we have in MipCancún; as I say: this big hug, that makes a difference and allows us to be where we are.”
A total of 121 companies occupied the tables available in the market, accompanied by seven stands that attracted the attention of a meeting room that once again showed exceptional dynamics, being, as always, the element where MipCancun makes a difference. “The agendas were full and that is an excellent sign that what we are doing we are doing very well,” shared the director.
“We also launched the Fast & Global: Americas Summit this year, which was a huge success, with extremely relevant content for our community,” Pérez-Bellière added.
The FAST Global Americas’ Summit conference that opened the activity of the first day of MipCancun was very successful, with a good audience and a high level of panelists on perhaps the most important trending topic at the moment, the FAST channels.
There was no shortage of screenings, including ones for titles such as Leylifer by Inter Medya, Playa Soledad by Sony Pictures Television, Land of Desire by Globo and Safir by ATV; as well as top-of-the-line keynotes, such as those provided by Nadav Palti (CEO) and Joshua Mintz (CCO) of Dori Media; and Carlos Quintanilla, SPT VP of Original Content for Latam and US Hispanic.
The nights of the event were very active, with parties and award ceremonies, including the Woman of the Year, an event organized by WAWA (Worldwide Audiovisual Women’s Association), whose winners were Fidela Navarro, Carmen Larios and Selina Nederhand.
MipCancun 2024 will be held from November 19 to 22 of next year.
