At this year’s edition of Natpe Budapest, Romania marked a confident step forward in its strategy to position itself as a top-tier destination for international film and promote its facilities and strong incentives for the international audiovisual industry.

Mihai Lupu, Managing Director at the Creative Industries Business Federation (FEPIC), represented the country’s delegation, which emphasized both the creative strength and the technical capabilities of the Romanian audiovisual sector.

“We are here with a very talented and well-endowed number of companies,” said Lupu. “Eight companies—production, post-production, and servicing companies—that present their offer to the Natpe.”

According to Lupu, Romania is increasingly seen as a complete production ecosystem that combines skilled professionals with robust infrastructure.

The country’s appeal is further reinforced by its financial incentives. “We are a great location for filming, we have great facilities, we have great people. We have a good cash rebate system back in Romania,” he added.

FEPIC’s presence at Natpe Budapest follows a successful appearance earlier this year at Natpe Miami, where the federation led a delegation of 16 companies.

“We are good friends of Natpe and the organizers. We’ve been to Natpe Miami in February. It was a great experience for us,” noted Lupu. “At Natpe Miami, we brought, I think, 16 companies now, and we had great results there. And this is our first Natpe Budapest participation, and we are also expecting good things to come from it.”
