Banijay Rights’ SVP for LatAm, US Hispanic and Brazil spoke to ttvnews about the arrival of the survival format in Argentina, where it will return to the Telefe screen this year.
This Wednesday, Banijay Rights announced the return of one of its flagship formats, Survivor, to Argentine broadcast TV, where it will premiere with a new season on Telefe.
The network will produce a new version of the format titled Survivor, Expedición Robinson, based on the success of the original series that aired in the territory 22 years ago.
“We are very happy, once again in Telefe’s prime time. We came with Big Brother, then with Masterchef, and now we have Survivor,” Michelle Wasserman, VPS for LatAm, US Hispanic and Brazil at Banijay Rights, told ttvnews during the first day of LA Screenings Independents 2023.
“Very proud to be on the main screen and with one of our top formats, to return to Argentina after 20 years,” she added.
Argentina is just the last country in LatAm to bet on the Survivor phenomenon again: “We returned to LatAm very strong in these last months. First Colombia, where it returned after 15 years, and now Argentina, in Mexico, also in its fourth season “.
“We are sure that it will shine as it has already done in other countries,” she concluded.
