“2024 started very busy and we are very optimistic.” With those words, Michele Wasserman summarized to ttvnews what the beginning of this year was, where despite the challenges presented by the current industry, Banijay Rights continues to grow hand in hand with its formats and an innovative model.
“We have many productions on the air, with Big Brother in several countries and several to be launched,” revealed the group’s VPS for LatAm, USH and Brazil. “We are happy with the business model that we started working on last year, in partnership with multiple platforms.”
The model is a unique windowing strategy, where a format like Big Brother extends its presence to several platforms, with exclusive content and more connection with audiences.
“In Argentina, for example, we have it on the air not only with the platforms of Paramount, Telefe, but also with Directv, with original production and new windows. It is a model that we use in Mexico for La casa de los famosos with Televisa and ViX , and that now we are going to replicate with RCN,” explained the executive.
The format is also experiencing a revival in Chile, where it returned last year with a new season that was a resounding success with audiences. “And we have already started with the casting of a new season and analyzing with Chilevision to work on that model that we are using in LatAm,” said the VPS.
“The truth is, we are super happy with the property, which once again had prominence not only in Latin America but throughout the world. The reality show is very strong, very active and with potential. In fact, we are already working to launch it in other countries “, revealed.
Along with Big Brother, the executive highlighted other highly successful formats in the region, such as Survivor, or talent titles or game shows. “Therefore, it is a very optimistic year despite the fact that the industry is going through a difficult time,” concluded the executive.
