Mediawan Group announced the appointment of Max Wiedemann as its new Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) amid its effort to enter this trend and adjust to the demand for innovative and visionary formats and new opportunities to produce content more efficiently.

To meet these new challenges, Max Wiedemann, who will continue to serve as Chief Production and Chief Business Development Officer at Leonine Studios, has been appointed to lead AI activities as Head of Artificial Intelligence for the Mediawan Group.

Max will spearhead efforts to integrate cutting-edge AI technologies into the group’s various business activities in his expanded role.

Max Wiedemann studied production and media management at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, he co-founded Wiedemann & Berg Film with Quirin Berg, and in 2010 they launched W&B Television.

As CEO, shareholder, and executive producer, Max has been at the helm of over 160 film and television productions. His impressive portfolio includes the Oscar®-winning The Lives of Others, the two-time Oscar® nominee Never Leave My Side, and German blockbusters such as Welcome to Germany.

He has also been behind iconic TV projects such as 4 Blocks, Pagan Peak, and Netflix’s groundbreaking first German original series Dark.

As Director of Business Development, Max Wiedemann has been a driving force in integrating AI in the film industry. Over the past few years, he has actively focused on implementing AI initiatives at Leonine Studios, creating a specialized AI unit, and successfully leading numerous projects that have optimized creative and operational processes.
