The US studio and Pepe Bastón’s new company are already working on 15 films in Spanish and another 30 in development.
Launched in 2020 and backed by industry giants such as Pepe Bastón, Jeff Symon, Carlos Sandoval, Antonio Alonso and Daniel Ucrós, the production company Elefantec Global announced in the last hours an alliance with the US studio MarVista for the production of films in Spanish.
The news was revealed by Variety, which stated the project includes the production of up to 15 films, plus another 30 currently in development in genres such as comedy, romantic comedy, drama, family and suspense.
“I always admired Pepe’s business and creative acumen. Uniting the dynamic studio structure we created in Los Angeles with his career and his team at Elefantec will allow us to adapt our library of universal narratives to Spanish-speaking audiences around the world,” said Fernando Szew, CEO and founder of MarVista Entertainment.
“The unrivaled know-how of MarVista and what Fernando has built in the US is impressive, especially with regard to the high quality and volume of production and distribution. Partnering to create a giant Spanish-language producer couldn’t be a more perfect match,” added Bastón.
