In this strategic role, she will lead this newly created business division, overseeing the creative strategy for non-fiction content.

Dynamo, the production company behind acclaimed hits such as One Hundred Years of Solitude and Narcos, continues to strengthen its position as a leading player in the Latin American audiovisual industry with the appointment of Mariana Vargas as its new Head of Entertainment.

In this strategic role, she will lead this newly created business division, overseeing the creative strategy for non-fiction content—including reality shows, docuseries, competitions, and talent shows—across leading streaming platforms and broadcast TV in Mexico, Colombia, and Spain.

She will report directly to Dynamo Partner Angélica Guerra, who leads the company’s expansion into new formats.

With 20 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, Vargas has been at the forefront of creating and overseeing some of the region’s most successful entertainment formats. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded reality shows, docuseries, competitions, and talent shows in key markets such as Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina, holding senior leadership positions as Content Director and showrunner at major production companies and global networks. Over the last four years, she held the role of Head of Entertainment at Televisa-Univision, where she was responsible for leading content strategy for high-profile formats including La Casa de los Famosos México, Reto 4 Elementos, and Juego de Voces, among others.

Just months after the launch of Dynamo’s Entertainment division, the company has already established strategic alliances with top broadcast television networks and leading streaming platforms, driving the development of large-scale unscripted formats featuring prominent celebrities. Mariana’s arrival marks a key milestone in Dynamo’s growth, reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing high-impact, original formats aligned with market trends and the evolving demands of global audiences.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mariana, a highly respected leader in our industry with a deep understanding of the entertainment landscape in Latin America. Her experience, vision, and ability to connect with audiences will be essential as we advance our strategy to boldly invest in innovative entertainment formats,” said Angélica Guerra, Dynamo Partner.

“It’s an honor to join a company like Dynamo, which has demonstrated a true commitment to innovation, excellence, and international talent. I’m excited to lead this new division and create content for an increasingly diverse and demanding audience,” said Mariana Vargas.
